When Victoria Piland, owner and lead designer for Bright Eyed Blooms reached out to me to possibly work together, I was overjoyed at the opportunity to create a brand design for a local florist. As you can tell throughout my portfolio, I’ve always had a deep appreciation for flowers that influences my work.
For our first meeting, Victoria gifted me a custom arrangement of homegrown flowers and we instantly clicked. I’ve been so excited to share what we’ve been up to!
For her wedding floral business, Victoria most enjoys bold, bright colors that bring energy to her events. Her main objective with her new brand design was to employ the punchiness and vibrance of Bright Eyed Blooms. Wanting to include illustration work with a simplistic layout, we used this as the framework for her brand.
I started with her favorite florals, which included sunflowers and garden roses. The sunflower made it easy to really showcase the eye of the bloom as the brand name suggests. I wanted to draw each piece separately to give me the flexibility to change the layout if needed. Once it was vectorized inside of Illustrator, I was able to move the pieces around to create the arrangement.
A neat aspect of Victoria’s brand that we incorporated was an heirloom vase that had been passed down in her family. The vase was even used at her own wedding! It’s so fun to see it be apart of her branding in a business where she serves other brides. I love how personalized the brand design became for her through this illustration.
It’s always so fun to work with a florist on brand design and I can’t wait to see all the ways it will be put to use! I’m so grateful to Victoria for choosing me to help her bring her brand to life. Bright Eyed Blooms has some big things coming this year (that may include a new studio). If you’re a local bride here in Dallas-Fort Worth, be sure to check them out!
Sincerely, Vicky
